Corneal Abrasions and Ulcers

The cornea is the only part of a human body that absolutely has no blood supply. It gets oxygen directly through the air. Your cornea can be scratched by contact with dirt, sand, dust, some wood or metal shavings or even your contact lenses.

Light cornea abrasion can be healed very fast and easy. But deeper abrasions can lead to very serious eye infections. If it will not be treated, corneal abrasion can transform into a corneal ulcer.

Corneal abrasions and ulcers require immediate medical treatment!
